Voting for assembly elections will be held in Maharashtra on 20th November and the results will be declared on 23rd November. There is a tussle going on in the alliance regarding this first seat sharing. Mahavikas Aghadi had announced on Wednesday that the formula for 288 seats has been prepared and talks have been held on seats for 85-85 seats. At the same time, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s statement regarding the alliance has come out. He said that his party will contest elections on those seats which will not cause any harm to the alliance.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, ‘The Maharashtra state president of the Samajwadi Party will take the decision, first we will try to stay in the alliance. But, if they (Maha Vikas Aghadi) do not keep us in the alliance, we will remain in the alliance. We will contest elections on those seats where we will get votes or where our organization is working, we will contest elections on those seats which will not harm the alliance. But there is no place for sacrifice in politics.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, ‘BJP is contesting elections not through its workers but through office-bearers. If any party starts contesting elections through officials then its defeat is certain.
